BRING YOUR LEADERSHIP TO LIFE WHERE THE LAND MEETS THE SEA
You’re passionate about wildlife, love working with people, and thrive in dynamic outdoor environments. You’re ready to step into a role where no two days look the same - supporting meaningful conservation work while helping create an unforgettable experience for participants from around the world.
At GVI Zakynthos, we’re looking for someone like you to help support our coastal conservation operations and contribute to the protection of vital Mediterranean ecosystems. From assisting with sea turtle surveys to coordinating daily activities on base, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our programs run smoothly, safely, and with purpose.
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
As our Coastal Program Coordinator, you are a key part of the day-to-day heartbeat of the hub. You help bring conservation programs to life by supporting field operations, participant experience, logistics, and team coordination.
Working closely with the Program Manager, your role helps ensure that research activities run efficiently, participants feel supported and inspired, and the overall operation maintains the high standards that define GVI’s conservation work.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Supporting Conservation Operations: Assist with the coordination and delivery of sea turtle surveys, biodiversity monitoring, environmental cleans, and other conservation activities.
Creating Exceptional Participant Experiences: Support participants throughout their journey by helping facilitate activities, answering questions, and contributing to a positive and inclusive hub environment.
Assisting with Daily Hub Operations: Help coordinate daily schedules, accommodation logistics, equipment organisation, and general base operations to keep everything running smoothly.
Supporting Team Coordination: Work closely with the Program Manager and wider field team to maintain strong communication, support daily priorities, and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
Maintaing High Standards: Assist with health and safety procedures, data collection processes, and operational administration to ensure professionalism and consistency across the program.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Experience working in conservation, environmental education, outdoor leadership, hospitality, tourism, or a similar people-focused environment.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
A proactive attitude and willingness to adapt in a fast-paced field setting.
Confidence working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
A passion for marine or coastal conservation.
The ability to remain calm, positive, and solutions-focused under pressure.
EU passport or permanent residency allowing you to live and work in Greece.
Bonus if you also have:
Previous experience in conservation or field-based programs.
Emergency First Response or First Aid certification.
Previous GVI experience.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
Monthly Stipend
A unique and immersive conservation experience in the heart of the Mediterranean.
