 Location: Amandelbult, Thabazimbi.
• Conduct pre-employment, pre-placement, transfer, and exit medical examinations in accordance with established medical examination protocols.
• Provide baseline health assessments to determine fitness for duty.
• Perform periodic health screening to detect early signs of target organ damage due to specific health hazard exposure.
• Identify affected employees and ensure early intervention and referral to appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Assist with and report on injuries on duty and occupational diseases.
• Follow organisational standards and procedures for the medical surveillance process.
• Conduct exit medicals to detect and exclude possible occupational diseases related to occupational exposure.
• Present medical recommendations to line management.
• Ensure accurate documentation and signing of medical records.
• Provide input into incident investigations from a health perspective.
• Implement health promotion activities within the organisation.
• Prepare and distribute medical reports in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
• Grade 12
• Diploma or Degree in Nursing
• BTech Occupational Health Nursing
• Registered with SA Nursing Council
• Basic Life Support certificate
• Certificate in Audiometry, Spirometry, Vision
• Registered with South African Society for Occupational Health Nursing
Experience
• 2 years’ experience in similar role.
Technical knowledge
Computer Literacy
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, with the ability to manage data, communicate effectively, and produce professional documentation.
Communication Skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities, enabling clear interaction with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Time Management
• Skilled in prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
Organizational Skills
• Capable of maintaining structured workflows, managing documentation, and ensuring operational efficiency.
Emerging in counselling skills
QMED Knowledge (Advantageous)
Knowledge of relevant mining & labour legislation.
Compliance
• Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory, regulatory and permitting requirements.
