The Production Worker I performs basic production tasks, such as line monitoring, packaging, labeling, and minor machine operations. This entry-level position supports overall production efficiency while ensuring quality and safety standards are followed.
Essential Functions:
Monitor basic machine functions and report abnormalities.
Apply labels and lot numbers to finished goods.
Inspect and remove defective products or materials.
Package, stack, and stage finished goods for transport.
Clean and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
Record production counts and report rejected items.
Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction).
Ability to work independently and with a team.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
0–3 months of production or warehouse experience.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts (i.e., parts moving down a conveyor or around a pack out table). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The individual must be able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position requires the employee to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional early morning, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention. Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employee’s manager.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees must repetitively bend, twist, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, pinch, and grasp. Regular use of hand tools (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers, air guns) is expected. Standing for extended periods is required throughout the shift. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
