Job Title: Production Support Technician
Team: Production
Reports to: Production Manager
Job Classification: Full-Time
Job Summary:
The Production Assistant supports production operations across multiple departments, including finish lines, infit casings, metal fabrication, fiberglass, crating, and material handling. Team members assist with material prep, basic assembly, workflow support, and shop organization while upholding Weiland’s core values - integrity, humility, service before self, being good in the storm, and striving for excellence.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Production Support
Assist with material handling, staging, prep, and general labor tasks.
Support finish lines with basic assembly, hardware prep, and component organization.
Assist with crating - building crates, labeling, packing, and preparing shipments.
Help maintain inventory levels by retrieving/staging materials.
Support metal or fiberglass areas with general labor tasks.
2. Quality Control and Teamwork
Inspect worked-on items for defects, accuracy, and completeness.
Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Collaborate with team members to support workflow and meet goals.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
3. Safety
Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Identify and report hazards immediately.
Perform visual and manual safety checks when required.
4. Other duties as Assigned
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Manufacturing experience helpful but not required.
Forklift experience a plus.

Proficient shop math skills and attention to detail - accurate with decimals, fractions, and tape measure.
Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work orders.

Ability to communicate effectively through speaking and conveying information to others.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day.
Physical stamina with ability to lift 75 lbs. and carry materials and equipment as needed.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
Regularly stand, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, grasp, lift, and a variety of physical activities.
Requires the use of hands and fingers, talking, and hearing to operate equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Schedule:
Monday to Thursday: 5:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Occasional overtime including Friday hours
Benefits and Compensation (based on eligibility):
Starting Pay: $20 to $22/hour based upon experience and knowledge
