Job Summary
The Production Supervisor for PrimePanel is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations for panelized wood wall, floor, and roof systems. This role ensures production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery schedules are met while leading and developing a team in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment. The supervisor coordinates labor, materials, equipment, and workflows across framing, sheathing, and finishing lines.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
Supervise day-to-day production activities for panelized wood wall systems.
Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet project timelines and shipping commitments.
Monitor workflow, takt time, and labor efficiency to optimize throughput.
Ensure materials, drawings, tooling, and equipment are available before production starts.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, logistics, and project management teams.
Quality Control
Ensure all wood panels meet engineering drawings, specifications, and building codes.
Enforce quality checkpoints during framing and sheathing.
Identify non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework and defects.
Health & Safety
Enforce all plant safety policies and procedures.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety inspections.
Ensure proper use of PPE and safe operation of woodworking machinery.
Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and supervise production staff, including leads and machine operators.
Assign tasks and balance labor based on skill level and workload.
Conduct performance reviews and support employee development and training.
Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work culture.
Equipment & Maintenance
Monitor woodworking equipment performance and downtime.
Coordinate preventive maintenance with maintenance teams.
Report equipment issues and support troubleshooting efforts.
Reporting & Communication
Track daily production metrics (output, labor hours, scrap, rework).
Provide regular production updates to plant leadership.
Maintain clear shift handover communication.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma required; technical diploma or trade certification preferred.
5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in panelized wood construction.
2+ years of supervisory or lead-hand experience in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Knowledge
Understanding of panelized wood wall construction methods.
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and production documentation.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is an asset.

Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with basic production reporting tools (ERP/MRP experience an asset).
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to stand, walk, and supervise on the production floor for extended periods.
Occasional lifting and material handling may be required.

Compensation
Salary Range: $60,000 – $100,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
