Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.  In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

We are seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor (Draglines & Drills) to join our team at Capcoal Surface Operations in Middlemount, Queensland.  Capcoal Surface is an open-cut coal operation producing approximately 5.1 Mtpa, utilising a fleet that includes a rope shovel, five excavators, two draglines and three drills.

In this role, you will lead a crew of around 20 operators within our dragline & drills mining operations.  Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, you will bring a strong commitment to safety, effective leadership and exceptional interpersonal skills.  As an experienced supervisor, you will guide and develop your team to ensure production targets and operational standards are consistently achieved.

You will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring personnel, equipment and resources to meet site targets and schedules.  This role is well suited to someone who enjoys coaching and mentoring a skilled team, tackling investigative and operational challenges, and collaborating closely with other departments on site.

• Experience running a large team within an open cut mining operation
