Advanced Input Systems (AIS) is a leading design and manufacturer of Human Machine eXperience (HMX) products and solutions for a broad range of markets and applications. AIS specializes in both standard products and OEM custom solutions including electro-mechanical assemblies and immersive products, such as virtual reality and electronic wearables, infection control products, medical and industrial display interfaces and control panels, and touchscreen displays.
We currently have an opening for a Production Planner/Scheduler. In this role, you will develop, maintain, and optimize production schedules to support efficient manufacturing operations. You will collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, Customer Service, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery, accurate capacity planning, and smooth workflow throughout the facility.
Primary Responsibilities
Create, maintain, and update daily, weekly, and long-range production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, and capacity constraints
Coordinate with Production Supervisors and Leads to ensure schedule feasibility, adjust plans, and respond to real-time issues such as staffing shortages, scrap, or machine downtime
Monitor work orders, lead times, and manufacturing progress to ensure schedule adherence and identify potential risks or delays
Collaborate with procurement to track incoming materials and adjust schedules based on supply chain constraints
Work closely with Customer Service to communicate delivery commitments, changes, or risk areas
Analyze capacity requirements and identify bottlenecks; provide recommendations to optimize manufacturing throughout
Maintain accurate data and schedule integrity within the ERP/MRP system
Prepare and present schedule updates during daily or weekly production meetings
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning accuracy, workflow efficiency, and operational performance
Assist in developing standardized scheduling processes, metrics, and reporting tools

Qualification Essential:
Collaborative attitude with a daily desire to learn and be a team player
Experience in production scheduling, material planning, or closely related supply chain responsibilities in a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, production/material flow, lead times, and capacity planning principles
Competency with ERP/MRP systems and ability to interpret work orders, routing, and BOM structures
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify constraints, assess alternatives, and make data-informed decisions
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments via face to face meetings and email
Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the ability to manage shifting priorities
Ability to think critically and be a problem solver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in schedule and system data
Capability to interpret and communicate complex scheduling information to non-technical stakeholders
Qualification Desired:
Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing or electro-mechanical production
Formal training or coursework in production planning, supply chain, or operations management
Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement methodologies
Experience with advanced scheduling, forecasting, or capacity planning tools
Previous experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) from a scheduling or planning perspective
Education/Previous Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field preferred
2-5 years of relevant experience in scheduling, production planning, material planning, or manufacturing operations
