Production Planner

About the Role

As our Production Planner at Youfoodz, you will bridge the gap between forecasted business demand and realistic manufacturing timelines to ensure every product is produced efficiently, on time, and in full. You will play a pivotal role in translating our Long-Range Business Plan into actionable manufacturing schedules while balancing resource needs across our engineering, labour, and procurement teams.

This role is based at our Karawatha, Brisbane facility, reporting directly to the National Demand Planning Manager.

You will...

• Develop and maintain high-quality demand forecasts across multiple distribution channels, including Direct-to-Consumer, Retail, and Major Grocery.

• Utilise G-Sheets for long-lead forecasting and spearhead the transition toward automated inventory planning tools for weekly visibility.

• Analyse historical performance and current menu trends to benchmark and project SKU-level volumes for exciting new range concepts and seasonal launches.

• Partner closely with Manufacturing Operations to ensure short-term production plans are achievable and backed by stabilised demand data.

• Deliver directional demand forecasts to Procurement to optimise supplier lead times and manage Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs).

• Collaborate with FSQA and Master Data teams to ensure raw material needs for new SKU recipes are fully accounted for in your forecasting.

• Refine modelling and track forecast accuracy against actuals to support waste reduction and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

You have...

• 3+ years of experience in Production Planning, Demand Planning, or Supply Chain Analysis, ideally within FMCG, food manufacturing, or a similar short-shelf-life environment.

• Advanced analytical proficiency in Excel/G-Sheets, with exposure to ERP systems (such as MFG) and BI tools highly regarded.

• A strategic mindset with the ability to look beyond daily numbers to calculate long-range resource requirements like labour, engineering, and logistics.

• The agility to comfortably handle "unclear" long-range menus by using creative benchmarking and historical data.
