PRODUCTION EXPEDITER

Expediter Responsibilities
Work closely with the Production Planner to create and develop the Daily /weekly production plan
Review detailed production plans and confirm material and resource availability
Confirm product availability with sales and customer service to meet demand
Works with purchasing to ensure delivery/availability of raw material as required
Participate as a key team member to consistently achieve improvements to on-time delivery performance
Monitor finished goods inventory levels and Kanban levels
Process urgent work orders and help resolve bottlenecks
Works closely with production and customer service teams to plan, schedule and communicate the status of work orders and customer requirements
Takes ownership of production plans and drives the correct priorities to deliver on time
Minimum Qualifications
2-3 years’ experience working in a Production department, preferably in a Manufacturing company.
Materials Management Diploma and/or APIC’s CPIM certificate is an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Knowledge of the production life cycle in an industrial setting
Previous experience using MRP systems, in particular the production planning and inventory management modules
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Inventory management skills are an asset
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and time management skills
Proficiency in MS Office
Able to deal with a demanding and changing work environment
Highly detailed and organized
Strong written/verbal communication
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and listen. This employee is also subject to daily computer use and may require light unassisted lifting.
