We are hiring a Production Excavator Operator who takes pride in clean truck loading, steady cycle times, and keeping material moving throughout the shift. This role is focused on output, consistency, and safe execution.

As a Production Excavator Operator at MacKay, your work directly influences productivity, safety, and overall job success. Your decisions at the controls affect cycle times, truck flow, and the ability of the crew to execute the plan safely and efficiently.

What You Will Get to Do
Load haul trucks safely and consistently in a high production environment
Maintain strong situational awareness around trucks, spotters, and ground crews
Read ground conditions and adjust to changing site conditions
Communicate clearly using radio, hand signals, and verbal direction
Complete pre operation inspections, logbooks, and light servicing
Keep your equipment clean and well maintained
Identify hazards early and take action to keep yourself and others safe
Support the crew when needed to keep production moving
Who This Role Is For
This role is for an operator who measures success through safe production and consistency rather than just hours worked.
You bring:
Experience operating excavators in production, mining, or mass earthworks environments
A solid understanding of truck loading practices and site flow
Knowledge of construction layout and staking
Experience with 3D machine control systems which is an asset but not required
A valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract
A safety first mindset every shift
Schedule and Pay
Based out of Sparwood, British Columbia
Seven days on and seven days off rotation
Twelve hour shifts
Overtime paid after eight hours
