Scope/Job Objective
The Production Support Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, improving production processes, the development of jigs and fixtures, and advising mechanical changes required for part designs.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
• Repair, maintenance and improvement of production automation equipment including RMS calibration automation and RMS testing automation.
• Supporting RMS machine shop by maintaining flatbed engravers, UV printers, label engravers, and associated drivers & software, as well as making safety improvements were required.
• Supporting RMS production team by designing jigs fixtures and tools to improve production processes.
• Supporting RMS production team by investigating mechanical component failures, identifying underlying causes, providing appropriated data to Production Engineering team leader to implement changes.
• Document processes including set-up and installation processes for equipment. Document maintenance performed and underlying faults appropriately.,
 
Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience.
• Have a moderate to high level of computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft office suite and the ability to problem solve independently.
• Have experience with CAD packages – preference is for AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and Altium, but any CAD experience is appropriate.
• Can learn fast, problem solve, and think associatively.
• Will maintain and support OH&S policies and expectations.
• Diagnostic skills for mechanical faults & experience with X-Y-Z tables.
• Communication & documentation skills.
