MS NOW is seeking a Production Assistant to join our newsroom. If you’re passionate about politics and breaking news and thrive in fast-paced environments, this role is for you. The position requires strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and a keen eye for timely, impactful storytelling across linear and digital platforms.
Our Production Assistants specialize in various areas including Anchor Production, Graphics Production and Social Media Production.
We are actively seeking talented candidates for opportunities across our team. This posting supports current and future hiring needs, and qualified applicants may be contacted as openings become available.
Responsibilities could include but are not limited to: 
• Monitor breaking news and gather accurate, timely information for anchors, producers, and social platforms
• Research, fact-check, and compile materials for anchors, producers, scripts, guest one-sheets, and on-air updates
• Pitch creative stories, guests, and social-first content ideas for daily coverage and longer-term projects
• Collaborate with producers and associate producers to edit video, select footage, locate photos, and identify standout video or audio clips
• Order, build, coordinate, and oversee graphic elements for broadcast, including live control room execution
• Create, edit, publish, and support engaging digital and social content across Instagram, TikTok, MS NOW’s DTC products, and other platforms
• Support live program needs, including printing scripts, maintaining anchor updates, and coordinating show materials
• Manage administrative and logistical support, including calendars, schedules, meetings, interviews, travel, correspondence, expenses, and light errands
• Contribute to daily marketing, promotional, and social platform initiatives
• Assist with special projects as assigned, including decks, research, and other executive producer requests
• At least one year of news production experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications:
• Excellent knowledge of politics, history and current events
• Must have the ability to work under deadline pressure
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with exceptional attention to detail
• Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
• Knowledge of Avid/Interplay, iNews, Avid (or other editing systems) preferred
Additional Job Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY 
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news
• Hybrid 3 days in office

Salary Range: $30/hour - $32/hour
