Product Owner – MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) (m/f/d)

Mission Brief

As the Product Owner for MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) in our aerospace manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for driving the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of our Manufacturing Execution System. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, engineering teams, and IT, ensuring that MES solutions align with operational needs, regulatory requirements, and strategic goals.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

Product Ownership & Strategy

• Define and maintain the MES product vision and roadmap aligned with aerospace manufacturing goals

• Prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, compliance needs, and user feedback

• Own the product backlog and ensure clarity, completeness, and alignment with agile delivery teams

• Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and compliance teams to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories

• Act as the primary point of contact for MES-related topics within the organization

Integration & Technical Collaboration

• Coordinate with ERP, PLM, and shop floor systems to ensure seamless data flow and process integration

• Support testing, validation, and deployment of MES features in collaboration with IT and vendors

Compliance & Quality Focus

• Ensure MES solutions support aerospace industry standards

• Work closely with quality and compliance teams to embed traceability, auditability, and data integrity into MES processes

Qualification Checklist

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing, or related field

• 5+ years of experience in MES, digital manufacturing, or industrial IT systems

• Experience in aerospace or other highly regulated industries is strongly preferred

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, shop floor operations, and digital workflows

• Familiarity with MES platforms (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, Hummingbird, or similar systems like Dassault DELMIA)

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in English is essential, German language can be beneficial depending on the organization's need
