About AIQ Group
AIQ Group brings together AccountsIQ and ExpenseIn to help finance teams work smarter, faster, and with greater confidence. Our solutions simplify complex financial processes, giving businesses better visibility, control, and insight as they grow.
We’re focused on building high-quality products, delivering real value to our customers, and continuing to scale in a fast-moving market. Across the group, we work collaboratively, bring energy to what we do, take action, and continuously raise the bar.
Wherever you sit (AccountsIQ, ExpenseIn, or across the group), you’ll be part of a team that’s ambitious, supportive, and focused on making an impact.
The Role
We’re looking for a Product Owner to sit at the intersection of customer insight, business priorities, and product delivery. You’ll act as the voice of the customer within the product team - turning feedback, usage patterns, and business goals into a clear, prioritised backlog that engineering can execute against. Working closely with our VP of Product and engineering team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring we’re building the right things, in the right order.
What you’ll be doing:
Own customer insight and backlog priorities
Gather and synthesise feedback from customers, identifying recurring themes and pain points
Translate insight into a clear, prioritised backlog aligned to customer value and business goals
Balance short-term improvements with longer-term product evolution
Drive delivery with engineering
Own and maintain a well-structured, groomed backlog in Jira
Write clear, actionable user stories with strong acceptance criteria
Work closely with engineers to clarify requirements, manage trade-offs, and keep delivery moving
Build product understanding and contribute to direction
Develop a deep understanding of the platform, customer workflows, and key use cases
Become the internal go-to for "how does this work and why does it work that way" questions, reducing reliance on engineering for product-level context.
Support product discovery by helping define problems and sense-check solutions
Communicate clearly across the business
Keep internal teams informed on what’s being built and when
Coordinate feature releases with engineering and share clear release notes and updates
Be a single point of contact for “what’s coming and when” - maintaining visibility across the organisation.
What you’ll need:
Proven experience as a Product Owner (or in a similar role) within a software product environment
The ability to write clearly and concisely, whether that’s user stories, acceptance criteria, or internal updates
Confidence working closely with engineers, with a solid understanding of technical constraints and trade-offs
Experience managing and prioritising a product backlog using tools like Jira
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to ask questions, challenge thinking, and push back where needed
The ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset - you’re comfortable making decisions without having perfect information
Experience working in a small team or scale-up environment, where ownership and adaptability are key
Familiarity with web platforms (ideally .NET) and/or mobile apps
What’s the hiring process?
Your application will be reviewed by the Hiring Manager.
Shortlisted candidates will then be contacted by the AIQ Recruitment team, who will invite you to an interview with the hiring manager.
You’ll interview with the hiring manager (and potentially other interviewers relevant for this position), during which you’ll deliver a presentation. You’ll be issued a brief before the interview to support you with preparing for the presentation.
Once all the interviews have been completed, you’ll be issued feedback from the AIQ Recruitment team.
When should I apply?
The role will close for applications on Monday 27th April, at the end of the working day
Why move within AIQ Group?
As part of AIQ Group, you’re already contributing to how we help finance teams work smarter, faster, and with greater confidence. Moving internally is a chance to build on that - growing your skills, exploring new challenges, and continuing to make an impact across AccountsIQ and ExpenseIn.
We’re on a shared journey to scale our products, strengthen what we offer our customers, and raise the bar in everything we do. However you grow within the group, you’ll stay connected to a collaborative, supportive culture shaped by our TEAM values; Together, Energy, Action, and Mindset.
What stays the same:
28 days annual leave + bank holidays + your birthday off
Hybrid working
Up to 6 weeks working abroad per year
Private health insurance
5% pension contribution
Life assurance (4x salary)
Income protection
Wellbeing initiatives
