The Product Manager for Rolling Stock Relays is responsible for executing the product and technology strategy defined by the Engineering Director, in collaboration with the senior leadership team, who retain ultimate accountability for this strategy. The Product Manager converts this strategic direction into actionable product roadmaps, lifecycle decisions and market-aligned initiatives.
2.1 Product Strategy and Roadmap
· Execute the product and technology strategy defined by the Engineering Director and leadership team.
· Develop clear product roadmaps, portfolio positioning and business cases for new developments and enhancements.
· Analyse market, customer and competitor data to inform long-term product direction.
· Ensure product strategy and roadmap activities are aligned with RTPE and Wabtec strategic objectives. 
 
2.2 Product Lifecycle Management
· Manage the complete lifecycle of the Rolling Stock Relay portfolio from introduction to end-of-life planning.
· Monitor product performance, margin, quality, reliability and obsolescence status.
· Own, maintain and govern all product data and product collateral, including data sheets, technical specifications, application notes, wiring diagrams, certificates, approvals, test reports and supporting documentation. Ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date, aligned with RTPE standards and readily accessible to internal stakeholders and customers.
2.3 Customer, Market and Sales Support
· Visit OEMs, operators, distributors and trade fairs to gather market insight and support sales initiatives.
· Provide specialist technical and commercial support to sales teams, including input on tender responses and pricing.
· Deliver product training for internal stakeholders and customers.
Essential
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or a related technical field.
· Product Management experience within a technical or electromechanical product environment.
· Experience managing product lifecycle activities, roadmaps and business cases.
· Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex technical and commercial data.
Desirable
· Experience within the Rolling Stock or wider rail industry.
· Familiarity with railway standards such as EN 50155, EN 50121, IEC 60571, IEC 60077, IEC 61373 and EN 45545-2.
· Knowledge of relay standards such as IEC 61810 and IEC 60947-5-1/-5-4.
