Product Manager, Derivatives

Responsible for designing, optimizing, and driving the end-to-end lifecycle management of exchange derivative product lines (such as futures, options, perpetual swaps, structured products, etc.). Deeply understand market demands, regulatory trends, and technical implementation, integrating quantitative strategies and risk management systems to build a competitive derivatives trading platform, assisting users in achieving risk hedging, arbitrage, and leveraged trading objectives.

• Lead the product design of cryptocurrency derivatives (futures, options, perpetual swaps, etc.), including contract specifications, funding rates, settlement mechanisms, and margin models.
• Develop derivatives pricing models and risk hedging strategies, optimizing the trading experience through order types, slippage control, API performance, and market maker collaboration.
• Design and enhance the derivatives risk management framework, including liquidation mechanisms, position limits, and auto-deleveraging rules.
• Develop innovative derivatives (e.g., volatility products, index derivatives) by combining market trends and user needs to boost platform trading volume and liquidity.
• Monitor global cryptocurrency derivatives market dynamics (e.g., competitors like Binance, Bybit, OKX, Deribit), analyze user behavior data, and formulate differentiated competitive strategies.
• Research innovative aspects of DeFi derivatives protocols (e.g., dYdX, GMX, Perpetual Protocol) and explore pathways for compliant innovative product implementation.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure products adhere to regulatory requirements across jurisdictions (e.g., VATP, MiCA) and develop regional access strategies.
• Coordinate with technical teams on product development requirements and assist marketing and operations teams in formulating derivatives promotion plans.

Requirements:
• Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in derivatives trading products, with a preference for backgrounds in cryptocurrency/traditional finance (e.g., equities, commodity futures) exchanges.
• Familiarity with derivatives pricing models, margin calculations, and clearing and settlement processes.
• At least one successful case of launching a derivatives product (e.g., perpetual swaps, options market making).
• Deep understanding of the cryptocurrency market, including leveraged trading, arbitrage strategies, and market maker ecosystems.
• Proficiency in designing large-scale system product architectures and a comprehensive understanding of the business processes of cryptocurrency derivatives exchanges.
• Knowledge of industry legal and compliance norms, including differences in regulatory requirements across regions.
• Strong industry, market, and competitor analysis capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate efficiently in English with market and institutional clients.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
