Product Manager – Application Gateway & API Gateway 

Overview 

CyberArk is seeking a Product Manager to own the Application Gateway and API Gateway capabilities within the Workforce Access platform. This role will drive the product strategy and execution for secure access to web applications and APIs, enabling seamless authentication, authorization, and policy enforcement across modern enterprise environments. 

You will work at the intersection of identity, access control, security, and platform infrastructure, shaping how users, services, and applications securely interact with enterprise systems at scale. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Product Strategy & Vision 

• Own the product vision and roadmap for Application Gateway and API Gateway capabilities 

• Define how gateway services enable secure access for workforce users, services, and integrations 

• Align gateway strategy with broader Workforce Access and identity platform goals 

• Identify opportunities to simplify customer deployments while strengthening security posture 

Product Execution 

• Translate strategy into clear product requirements, epics, and milestones 

• Partner closely with engineering to design, prioritize, and deliver gateway features 

• Drive decisions around scalability, availability, performance, and reliability 

• Balance customer needs with architectural and security constraints 

Application Gateway Ownership 

• Own use cases related to: 

• Secure access to internal and external web applications 

• Authentication and authorization enforcement at the gateway 

• Policy-based access, session handling, and request routing 

• Ensure consistent behavior across different application types and deployment models 

API Gateway Ownership 

• Own product capabilities for: 

• Secure API access using modern authentication and authorization standards 

• Token validation, identity propagation, and policy enforcement 

• Support for service-to-service and user-to-service access patterns 

• Enable secure integrations for customers, partners, and internal services 

Customer & Market Focus 

• Understand enterprise customer needs around application and API access security 

• Engage with customers, field teams, and partners to validate use cases and requirements 

• Monitor competitive landscape across access gateways, API management, and identity platforms 

• Incorporate compliance, regulatory, and operational considerations into product decisions 

Cross-Functional Leadership 

• Collaborate with architecture, security, and platform teams to ensure best-in-class design 

• Partner with UX (where applicable) to improve admin and operator experiences 

• Work with product marketing, sales, and customer success on launches and enablement 

• Act as a subject-matter expert on application and API access within the organization

• 2+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in enterprise SaaS, security, or platform products 

• Strong understanding of application access, API security, and gateway technologies 

• Experience working with authentication and authorization concepts (SSO, OAuth, OIDC, tokens) 

• Ability to partner effectively with engineering on complex, backend-heavy systems 

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience with identity and access management (IAM) or security platforms 

• Familiarity with reverse proxies, API gateways, and access control enforcement 

• Experience designing or managing platform or infrastructure-level products 

• Exposure to zero trust architectures and modern enterprise security models 

• Experience supporting large-scale, multi-tenant enterprise deployments
