We are seeking a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) BOM & Variant Management Engineer to manage end-to-end vehicle variant and feature lifecycle management, with a strong focus on Colour, Materials & Finishes (CMF) variability. The role is responsible for product configuration in Teamcenter, including accurate feature coding, PDL-based rules, and variability transformation across PLM–SAP–MES–OTA systems. You will ensure governance-compliant, salable vehicle configurations through structured BOM and product data management processes.

Key Responsibilities

Variant & Feature Lifecycle Management

• Manage the full lifecycle of vehicle variants (options, trims, colors, technical features) from concept to discontinuation.

• Create and maintain Model Codes, Trim Codes, and salable variant structures in PLM.

• Participate in variant sign-off and ensure production readiness.

CMF (Colour, Materials & Finishes) Management

• Analyze CMF specification book and transfer data into IT systems.

• Create and maintain color codes and color variant structures.

• Drive color variability transformation from PLM to downstream systems.

• Ensure CMF alignment with market-specific salable configurations.

Product Configuration & Technical Variability

• Create feature codes and define technical relationships between feature codes and components in Teamcenter.

• Establish inclusion/exclusion logic using PDL (Product Definition List).

• Develop and maintain variant rules and configuration logic.

• Analyze impact of feature changes on PLM BOM and take corrective actions.

BOM & System Integration

• Drive variability transformation across the enterprise landscape:

• PLM → SAP

• SAP → MES → OTA systems

• Perform SAP BOM validation using SAP MDG (or equivalent governance tools).

• Ensure data accuracy and governance compliance across: M-BOM / S-BOM / E-BOM / Software BOM.

Data Governance & Digital Integration

• Validate configuration data quality in PLM.

• Support integration with IDMC or other data governance tools.

• Translate variability logic across the enterprise IT landscape.

• Mitigate risks associated with product variants and ensure regulatory compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and IT teams.

• Support module teams with training on new PDL / variant features.

• Drive structured documentation and configuration standards.

• Product configuration in Teamcenter PLM

• Strong CMF (Colour / Materials / Finishes) background

• Variant rule creation & PDL logic

• SAP BOM validation and SAP MDG (or equivalent)

• MES integration knowledge

• Understanding of PLM–ERP–MES–OTA architecture

• NX (preferred for design visualization)
