Product Engineer (Warsaw – Hybrid)

Velocity is built on a simple idea: Stablecoins are the optimal way to move money with intelligence, speed and ambition in a unified environment. Payments, banking, and treasury infrastructure have not kept up with today’s global operating model. We’re changing that with a Stablecoin Payment Account that brings together the speed of digital assets and the discipline of traditional finance.

We are an experienced team based in London, Warsaw and New York. This role is for our Warsaw office. We work in a hybrid setup - we are flexible, but we value in-person collaboration. Contract type: B2B.

What you’ll be doing

As a Product Engineer at Velocity, you will ship - backed with AI - complete products that integrate deeply with financial systems. You’ll work directly with product managers and stakeholders, own entire product flows, and take responsibility from idea to production and beyond.

Must-have

• Strong product mindset and ownership: You understand product goals, collaborate directly with product managers and stakeholders, and own features end to end. This includes ideation, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring. You are a problem solver.

• Hands-on AI-first development workflow: You use AI tools daily to design, code, debug, and ship faster. AI is a core part of how we build products, not an optional enhancement.

• Fast execution and bias for action: You will ship your first meaningful PR on day one. You bring hunger, ambition, and focus on shipping real value instead of getting stuck in discussion loops.

• No rockstars, just strong team players: We are a small, flat team of product engineers. You work independently, support others, and thrive in a collaborative, ego-free environment. You take responsibility for your design decisions.

• Proven backend engineering experience (3+ years): You have built and maintained production systems using frameworks such as Node.js, Django, FastAPI, Ruby on Rails. Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React will be appreciated. You know how to leverage Github for collaboration with the team.

• API and system design skills: You can design clean, scalable RESTful APIs and backend architectures that are maintainable and performant.

• Database expertise: You are confident working with both relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and performance optimization.

• Cloud deployment and operations experience: You have deployed and operated services on platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and understand modern DevOps practices.

• Testing, CI/CD, and delivery discipline: You write meaningful tests, use continuous integration pipelines, and balance speed with code quality in your delivery process. Flags and continuous deployment are well understood to you.

• Clear communication and fluent English: You communicate effectively in writing and speech, contribute to product decisions, and thrive in async, transparent environments.

Nice to have

• You have experience working in dynamic product companies or you had your own product

• Background in fintech, payments, treasury, or crypto systems

• Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or Pulumi

• Familiarity with event-driven architecture or microservices

• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry

• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal portfolio
