About the role

OfficeRnD Workplace helps companies run their hybrid workplaces. Employees can book desks, meeting rooms, and plan when to come into the office, while workplace teams set the rules, manage capacity, and keep schedules consistent across locations. It replaces spreadsheets, manual coordination, and “who’s coming in when” guesswork with one place people actually use.

It's a product with real complexity: two very different user groups, workplace admins who set policies, permissions, and rules across locations, and employees who just want to book a desk in 10 seconds on their phone, both relying on the same system without getting in each other’s way.

The product has 30,000+ daily users, so the work ships to real people quickly and the feedback loop is short. We use Pendo for product analytics.

We're looking for an experienced Product Designer to own the end-to-end experience of this product alongside a team of Engineers and a Product Manager counterpart. You'd be joining a Design team of 5 people, with the support of a Design Team Lead and reporting to the VP Product.

This is a 12–18 month maternity cover role with a path to a permanent position based on performance and evolving business needs.

What you'd actually be doing:

Owning feature design end-to-end, from framing the problem with engineering and product, through research, prototyping, and launch.

Running user research on web and mobile: talking to workplace admins and end users, understanding their context, and turning what you learn into design decisions you can defend.

Contributing to the OfficeRnD Design System by extending components, improving documentation, and raising the bar for consistency across the product.

Shaping strategic decisions with the Executive and Engineering teams when user experience, business goals, and scope are in tension.

Measuring whether your design decisions actually worked: setting success metrics, tracking usability, and sharing what you learn with the broader team.

Helping the culture around you take design seriously by doing the work visibly and well.

What we're looking for

Solid experience designing products, ideally some of it in SaaS or B2B where the users have real jobs to do.

A portfolio that shows systems thinking, not just screens: how you frame problems, make trade-offs, and ship.

Fluency across iOS, Android, and responsive web.

Experience working inside a mature design system, contributing to it, not just consuming it.

Deep empathy for users: genuine curiosity about their context and the instinct to advocate for them when priorities collide.

A habit of validating design decisions with data and being honest about impact.

Strong visual craft: hierarchy, layout, typography, color.

Self-direction. You can prioritize your own work, communicate progress without being asked, and deliver on time.

Nice to have

BA/BS degree in Design (interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

AI-assisted prototyping tools: Figma Make, Lovable, or Claude.

Remote user testing platforms: UserTesting, Maze, or Lyssna.

Familiarity with how software gets built and shipped, enough to work fluently with engineering.
