Product Designer – Physical DIY & Paper Aircraft

We are building a premium direct to consumer brand focused on high performance paper airplanes and DIY flight kits. This role is responsible for designing, building, testing, and refining physical paper aircraft that fly exceptionally well and can be reproduced consistently by customers.

This is a hands on maker role. You personally design what you build, and you personally build what you design.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Design original paper aircraft across multiple categories:
long range gliders, fast jets, stunt and trick planes, themed designs

Physically prototype and flight test every design:
fold, fly, measure, refine, repeat

Optimize designs for real world performance:
distance, glide time, stability, consistency

Create clear build instructions in English:
step by step diagrams, written instructions, or simple build videos

Contribute to themed kits, limited releases, and product improvements

Support short form content:
build demonstrations, flight tests, behind the scenes maker content

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

We do not care about degrees. We care about proof of making.

You must have:

• Hands on experience with paper airplanes, origami, model building, or physical DIY products
• Ability to independently design, prototype, and test physical builds
• Strong attention to detail and repeatability
• Clear written and spoken English
• Comfort contributing to simple video content

STRONG ADVANTAGES

• Experience sharing or selling DIY designs
• Experience creating instructions for non technical users
• Interest in aerodynamics, flight mechanics, or craft optimization
• Maker mindset: patient, precise, iterative

LOCATION AND WORK MODEL 

• Remote role
• Preference for candidates based in Vietnam or Manila, Philippines
• Must be able to ship physical prototypes and join live video reviews
• Occasional in person collaboration possible for Vietnam based candidates
