What we do

Our collective future is being built in the physical world, but the builders of tomorrow’s technology can no longer rely on yesterday’s tools. At Arena, we’re building the world’s first AI industrial engineer designed to solve the most complex hardware and manufacturing challenges. Our product, Atlas, is built with an understanding of the behavior of physical systems, powered by a superior knowledge of core domains of physics. Paired with its ability to reason about multimodal industrial data, Atlas can test, debug, optimize, and repair physical systems and products in the real world. Arena is already trusted by some of the most advanced industrial companies in the world (AMD, Bausch & Lomb), and we're rapidly already scaling into the defense, automotive, and pharmaceuticals industries, and we’re just getting started.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced designer to build product experiences, visual language, and conceptual design across all touchpoints. In this role, you will be the connective tissue between cutting-edge AI technology, our users, and the physical environments where Atlas is deployed. You will make the complex simple, the powerful accessible, and the future tangible. You will leverage your design expertise to rapidly design and prototype new product features within the Atlas Platform.

How you will contribute:

• Define, design, and ship high-quality prototypes and market defining products.

• Advocate for users - go deep on understanding their perspective, workflows, and pain points.

• Partner closely product owners and design peers to define both long-term strategy and short-term tactics.

• Help define and evolve our design language and system across an ever growing product set.

• Collaborate with engineers and machine learning scientists to ensure innovative AI techniques and technologies translate into scalable tools, services, and customer experiences.

• Set a higher standard for animation, motion, and craftsmanship.

You Have:

• 6+ years of professional experience with strong interaction and visual design skills

• A track record of designing complex digital products that solve real-world problems

• The ability to simplify intricate systems into intuitive user experiences

• Comfort with ambiguity and a drive to find clarity through research and iteration

• Strong communication skills to articulate your ideas to diverse stakeholders

• A willingness to travel and work on-site with clients regularly

• An eye for cohesive design systems and brand expression

• Expertise in Figma and other design tools like Framer, etc.

• Experience with 3D product design, and mixed reality is a bonus

• An online portfolio showcasing your work

Requirements

• Willing to work in our office in NYC 5 days a week.

• Willing to travel domestically and internationally to customer locations. This will likely be potentially 10%-15% of time.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 yr. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we also offer competitive equity and benefits packages.
