CNBC Digital Video is looking for a news-obsessed, jack-of-all-trades producer for its News and Programming team. This role involves creating and curating videos covering the most important business, markets and political stories of the day.
The producer’s main responsibilities will include covering several hours of TV programming each day, selecting excerpts of the most compelling moments, and posting them on site and other platforms. Coordinating with TV producers and digital editorial teams daily to ensure we capture relevant moments is crucial to this role.
In addition to clipping and curating, this producer should be able to handle various stages of production (shoot, script, and edit) for news-focused, short-form videos. They should also be able to collaborate with colleagues and support them on project production as needed.
The ideal candidate is a motivated, disciplined, and tech-savvy producer who can craft smart headlines, write timely and engaging original video scripts, work under tight deadlines, and collaborate across several different departments at CNBC.
The producer should have a proven track record of high-quality storytelling and impeccable news judgment. A background in business/financial journalism is preferred.
The producer may also be asked to assist with various forms of production for our strategic content needs, including Pro/Investing club and others.

Main Responsibilities
• Work on daily assignments at the direction of the News and Programming manager.
• Clip and curate news moments each day, including full interviews and packages. Select the most newsworthy soundbites from broadcast interviews and news segments. 
• The duration of each shift will change depending on business needs and on occasion may be the full day. The producer will need to be laser-focused on clipping for the entirety of the shift. 
• Craft compelling and accurate headlines and descriptions for videos appearing on CNBC.com and other platforms during a fast-moving news cycle.
• Optimize video clips for SEO, metadata tracking, and distribution partners.
• Maintain strong attention to detail; error-free copy is a must.
• Serve as a primary substitute for the early morning shift (starting at 6am) and may also substitute the 12pm-8pm shift, as needed.
• Shoot, edit, and produce news-focused short-form videos.
• Work with the rest of the team to produce short- and long-form original digital videos.
• Collaborate with digital and TV reporters to create reporter-led video analysis tied to timely news.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $93,000 - $110,000.
Qualifications
• At least 2-4 years of experience working in a fast-paced digital or TV newsroom.
• Strong writing skills and news judgment.
• Ability to work under tight deadline pressure.
• Ability to edit videos in Adobe Premiere.
• Ability to work at least three days a week in-person at CNBC’s Englewood Cliffs campus.
• A strong portfolio of recent work (e.g., video clips, explainer videos, social videos, published stories, producer reels).
• Willingness and ability to work non-traditional hours on a short notice. 
Desired Characteristics
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop; knowledge of After Effects is a plus.
• Experience shooting with Canon or Sony cinema and DSLR cameras in field and studio settings.
• Experience with content management systems, with an emphasis on SEO and video distribution.
• Familiarity with Riverside, WildMoka or comparable tools.
