Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced Procurement Specialist to join our manufacturing team in Stevensville, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement of raw materials, components, and services required to support continuous production schedules. You will leverage your deep manufacturing background to optimize supplier relationships, negotiate high-value contracts, and ensure that all purchased items meet strict quality and cost standards.

Responsibilities:
• Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Identify and qualify domestic and international suppliers for raw materials and industrial equipment. Lead RFQs and negotiate favorable pricing, volume discounts, and long-term supply agreements.
• Purchase Order Management: Create, process, and track purchase orders (POs) from initial entry through receipt, ensuring data integrity within the ERP/MRP system.
• Production Support: Coordinate closely with engineering and production teams to align purchasing activities with technical specifications and build schedules.
• Inventory & Cost Control: Monitor stock levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts while minimizing excess inventory. Implement cost-saving initiatives and produce monthly reports on raw material pricing trends.
• Vendor Performance: Evaluate supplier reliability and quality performance, handling claims for defects or shortages and initiating corrective actions when necessary.
