Job Description
The Procurement Engineer shall be responsible for sourcing and purchasing project specific goods and services in accordance with Company’s Procurement Guidelines. The Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness. The Procurement engineer will integrate their technical knowledge with commercial and contractual acumen.
This role requires working directly with vendors to ensure deliveries are made accurately in line with the scope and on time as well as working closely with the project team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Project Manager(s) in finalising Project Procurement Plans
Consolidation of RFQ document and their on-time submission to the selected Suppliers
Establish and maintain effective local Supplier relationships
Carry aggressive negotiations with Suppliers to meet project objectives related to cost, delivery, performance and quality
Ensure commercial, legal and contractual compliances in all the procurement transactions
Execute negotiated contracts (place orders, ensure contractual terms are met and schedule contract renewals)
Coordinate with project engineering on project specific on-time deliverables
Operate the purchasing systems, assure data integrity and maintain the appropriate documentation
Review and manage the Supplier base to ensure consistency with the sourcing strategy
Assist Project Manager(s) in regular performance review with suppliers to drive continuous improvements
Coordinate with Suppliers to ensure Purchase Order compliances until the completion of delivery
Manage independent projects, e.g. e-commerce, logistics as required by the company
Support the Commercial Manager with office-based administrative tasks
Adhere to all Jord company policies and IMS requirements
Skills and Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering is essential with good academic results
At least 3 - 5 years’ procurement experience in an EPC environment
Strong customer service skills with a commitment to solve problems and requests
Interest, knowledge and experience in operations and supply chain
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to adhere to specifications
Strong administrative skills with an emphasis on accuracy
Strong priority setting skills and ability to understand and follow standard processes
Ability to deliver under pressure
