About the Position:
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Coordinator is responsible for the efficient expediting of material purchases, supplies, and services for Walters Inc. They are responsible for implementing document control, process management, and coordinating with third parties, including vendors, suppliers, and logistics providers—for cross-border transactions, ensuring all purchases align with the established procurement process.
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Monitor the in-flow of materials, parts, and assemblies for the production process to ensure completion of timely order.
Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to confirm order details, resolve issues, and negotiate delivery schedules.
Manage the flow of documentation for materials moving between mills, truckers, and brokers within Canada and across borders .
Prepare and distribute required documentation to relevant stakeholders to support efficient material delivery.
Work closely with Buyers, Production and the Procurement Manager to ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete (e.g., country of origin, bills of entry, customs documentation).
Own the full lifecycle of document management related to expediting, purchasing, and transactions.
Generate and maintain reports, including analysis of purchasing activities, cost trends, and supplier performance.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations across jurisdictions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Location:
Head office in Hamilton, ON.
Position Requirements:
Completion of a Post-Secondary School Program.
1-3 years’ experience in supply chain or logistics management, preferably for a Manufacturing Company.
A team player who collaborates effectively with peers and stakeholders in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
Strong negotiation skills.
Highly organized with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Strong relationship management skills.
High attention to detail.
Willingness to learn and support team needs as required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Familiarity in working with ERP systems will be considered as an asset.
Strong research skills and product knowledge.
Self-motivated.
Compensation Package:
Salary: $55,000-70,000/Year
