Role: Procurement Compliance Officer
Compliance Expertise
• Drive compliance programs and internal controls activities based on a framework of detection, real-time monitoring, preventative controls, education and awareness, and supplier management standards related to compliance.
• Develop, implement and enforce procedures and policies to ensure the organization's compliance with industry and government regulations.
• Consistent risk assessments to recognize areas where the company might be vulnerable to non-compliance.
• Design effective internal controls. Analyze and identify areas for non-compliance and implement actions to mitigate the identified risks.
• Resolve areas of vulnerability in procurement and related payable processes, recommending preventative actions and controls.
• Experience in fraud prevention.
• Perform control self-assessment.
• Apply deep understanding of relevant policies, regulations, and/or SOX to maintain business operation compliance.
• Implement and handle risk detection tools and dashboards to identify high-risk transactions and facilitate reviews of available data.
• Support internal and external procurement audits and reporting.
 
Reporting, Auditing, and Program Administration
• Perform assurance activities, including regular audits of procurement activities and resulting data.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments, report nonconformities, and handle mitigations and/or corrective action planning.
• Apply strong attention to detail to reporting, auditing, and investigations.
• Drive accountability and resolution of issues raised through the process.
• Establish and update policies and procedures concerning compliance when needed.
• Deliver training for procurement team members, suppliers, and key collaborators on policies, responsibilities, and expectations.
• Perform Third-Party Due Diligence review, including sanction screening and reputational due diligence efforts.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
 
Business Partnering
• Provide timely updates on supplier risk evaluations to collaborators involved in the decision-making process.
• Work alongside corporate functions to develop and implement supplier compliance assessments for different business areas and locations, crafting controls that align with the assessments.
• Drive supplier accountability through both partnership and enforcement of corrective actions.
• Collaborate with suppliers, customers, regulatory agencies, and business partners to ensure compliance.
• Articulate expectations and actions needed to maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
• Be the trusted compliance partner for key collaborators.
