We’re seeking a motivated Procurement Advisor to support our procurement team and help deliver best-practice tendering and sourcing processes.
As our Procurement Advisor, you’ll play a key role in supporting procurement activities across the organisation. You’ll provide guidance to non-procurement staff on processes, probity, and compliance, and be part of the core central Procurement team.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting end-to-end procurement activities across Council.
• Ensuring procurement activities align with the Government Rules of Procurement and internal standards.
• Supporting RFx preparation and administration, including sourcing and evaluation activities.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure smooth and professional procurement outcomes.
• Helping to minimise risk and maintain integrity throughout the plan-source phases of market engagement.
• Contributing to cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
This role is ideal for someone looking to step into a junior Procurement Specialist position and grow their expertise in a supportive environment.

• 6 months minimum experience in a Procurement/Sourcing role.
• Experience within local government or public sector desirable.
• Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
• A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A deep understanding of the various Government Model Procurement templates.
• A good understanding of The Government Rules of Procurement.
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders (internal and external).
• Ability to operate independently, anticipate requirements and monitor workload.
• Strong analytical capability and confidence using Excel and other Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
