The Process Technician position is a hands-on role that will provide technical services to the Production, Process Engineering, and Product Development departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for starting micro-reactor experiments and recording data daily for the experiment, performing quality control on raw materials and new product recipes, and ensuring results are in spec and within turnaround times. Main Responsibilities
Assisting with biostimulant and other product development.
Designing and setting up experiments.
Collecting data daily for the duration of the experiments.
Preparation of samples for further analysis at other in-house or external labs.
Monitoring and reporting on Process Technology Centre (PTC) inventory stock.
Restocking raw materials for the PTC.
Accurately maintaining records and administration sheets for PTC activity.
Conducting quality control on reports.
Assisting with production support activities when required.
Conducting product issue investigations.
Performing quality control and maintenance on PTC equipment.
Practising general housekeeping and safe work habits.
Ad hoc or other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Capabilities
Working knowledge of how to set up an experiment
Thorough knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety regulations
Excellent attention to detail
Able to work well independently and as part of a team
Proficient in the use of laboratory techniques and equipment
Adaptable and flexible in dynamic laboratory environments

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
National Certificate or Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar qualification
Experience
Proven experience in Pilot Plant operations
Experience in a laboratory working environment would be advantageous
Other specific requirements
Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)
Full proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Medically fit to do manual labour when necessary
Must be willing to work flexible shifts
Own transport
