Job Description
Purpose: Responsible for establishing process steps to produce in-house-made parts and meet customer expectations concerning quality, lead time, cost, and technological needs. Process Engineer drives improvements in process methods to enhance performance and output.
Key Area of Responsibilities:
• Establish process steps to produce in-house-made parts and meet customer expectations in terms of quality, lead time, cost, and technological needs, without compromising health and safety.
• Create process routing (work instructions) & BOM in ERP, and prepare an Inspection Method Sheet (IMS)/checklist.
• Read and interpret 2D drawing, 3D model and customer specifications on drawing.
• Ensure process routing is ready for both the first article and volume production.
• Perform sustaining engineering work (documentation of the process, optimization of resources, support production team, resolving technical/quality issues).
• Monitor process performance (quality, cost, lead time) and yield using tools (e.g. SPC).
• Monitor First Article (FA) progress and resolve technical issues in a timely manner to ensure smooth production flow from FA to volume production.
• Drive improvements to process methods to enhance performance and output.
• Take accountability in leading special projects and processes, treating it like a specialist in the identified process assigned by a superior.
Requirements:
• Degree in Mechanical, Precision Engineering, or other relevant discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in the precision machining industry.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of interpretation of engineering drawing.
• Knowledge of designing tools (GD&T).
• Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement.
