Process Engineer – Consumer Products Manufacturing
We’re partnering with a stable, well-established consumer products manufacturer to hire an experienced Process Engineer for a large, high-volume production facility near State College, PA. This role supports multiple production lines and plays a key part in driving continuous improvement, capital projects, and operational excellence across the plant.
This is a hands-on engineering role with real visibility and impact. The engineer will lead process optimization initiatives, support equipment and process upgrades, and work directly with operators to apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to solve problems and improve performance.
The company is expanding, with internal promotions and movement into a new plant, creating strong growth and advancement opportunities despite the less-than-ideal location.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and optimize multiple high-speed production lines
• Lead continuous improvement and capital improvement projects
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost
• Train and coach operators and frontline teams on problem-solving methods
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering
• Mentor junior engineers or technicians as needed
Requirements:
Qualifications
• BS in Engineering required
• 5+ years of Process Engineering experience in consumer products or high-speed manufacturing
• Background in tissue, paper, packaging, textiles, or similar industries preferred (but not required)
• Strong experience with continuous improvement, project management, and hands-on process work
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience strongly preferred
• Proven ability to mentor, coach, or train others
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
