PACU RN - Tucson, AZ
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Receive patients directly from the operating room and provide Phase I and/or Phase II post-anesthesia care
Monitor airway, breathing, circulation, neurological status, and pain level during recovery
Identify and manage post-anesthesia complications including pain, nausea, respiratory compromise, and hemodynamic instability
Administer IV fluids and medications per anesthesia and provider orders
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and discharge readiness in the electronic medical record
Communicate patient status and concerns with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and perioperative team
Provide post-operative education and discharge instructions to patients and caregivers
Ensure patients meet established PACU discharge criteria prior to same-day discharge
Maintain a safe, efficient patient flow to support on-time case turnover
Adhere to ambulatory surgery center policies, patient safety standards, and infection control protocols
Qualifications
Current, unrestricted Arizona RN license
AZ Fingerprint Card
Minimum 2 year PACU or critical care experience
Need to have worked in PACU or equivalent within the last 6 months
BLS and ACLS required
Strong assessment, time-management, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work independently while managing multiple post-operative recoveries
Current Physical and TB Test (within the last year)
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and move throughout the shift
Ability to safely lift, position, and assist patients
Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations

Ambulatory Surgery Center PACU
Multiple Shifts Available
Shifts very depending on facility need and RN availability
Pay: $40-42 based on experience
