AECOM is seeking a Principal Security Specialist - Electrical, Data Centers to be based in South Africa's Enterprise Capabilities office in Cape Town. This position will support a team locally based in South Africa and Global Teams. As a part of AECOM's culture, it offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement which accommodates both office and out-of-office work schedules.

Here is what you will be doing:
• Leads ICT system design for complex or large‑scale projects
• Leads teams of ICT Specialists and Candidates during project execution
• Design and develop ICT systems, including network infrastructure, building management systems, CCTV, access control, and security systems
• Reviews and signs off on technical deliverables produced by others
• Responsible for technical quality control across project outputs
• Makes final technical decisions on ICT solutions for assigned projects
• Performs advanced troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis
• Resolves escalated technical issues that specialists cannot solve
• Handles high‑complexity or mission‑critical ICT system designs
• Coordinates multi‑discipline integration at a senior level
• Leads coordination meetings and represents the ICT discipline to clients
• Engages directly with clients at a technical and advisory level
• Ensures compliance with international, specialized, and local standards
• Manages project budgets, technical risks, and resource planning
• Develops project‑specific standards, design methodologies, and templates
• Contributes to bid and proposal preparation, including high‑level design strategies
• Provides structured mentorship, training, and onboarding to junior staff
• Stays up to date with emerging ICT technologies and industry trends
Here is what we are looking for:
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited University
• + 6 years of demonstrated relevant experience
