Reporting to the Vice-President, SAP Delivery, the Principal SAP Solution Architect is a member of the SAP team.
You will play a pivotal role at the intersection of enterprise architecture and business strategy, supporting organizations as they define where they are going with SAP and cloud, not just how to configure existing systems.
At Talan, this role is designed for a senior architect trusted to engage with executive stakeholders, understand financial and operational priorities, and translate that vision into actionable SAP architectures. You design NorthStar target-state architectures across the full SAP suite - Cloud ERP, BTP, Industry Cloud, Data and AI - ensuring every architectural decision is tied to tangible business outcomes while maintaining solution integrity throughout delivery.
Your mission consists of:
• Leadership, Vision & Initiative• Lead executive-level discussions to define SAP transformation roadmaps, investment priorities, and cloud adoption strategies aligned with client business goals.
• Develop and articulate NorthStar architecture visions grounded in industry context and business models.
• Operational Excellence• Own end-to-end SAP architecture design across S/4HANA Cloud Public and Private Editions and the extended SAP ecosystem (BTP, Datasphere, integration, clean core extensibility).
• Make and document deliberate decisions on clean core versus extensions and integrations to ensure long-term sustainability.
• Customer Orientation• Advise clients on the appropriate use of SAP Industry Cloud solutions and AI capabilities (embedded AI, Joule, BTP AI services), focusing on high-value business use cases.
• Provide informed perspectives on SAP’s roadmap and its implications for current architecture decisions.
• Knowledge Sharing• Mentor junior and mid-level architects by sharing your reasoning and architectural frameworks.
• Contribute to the growth of Talan’s SAP practice through reusable frameworks, accelerators, and client-facing points of view.
