A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
• Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
• Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
• Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
• Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
• May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
• Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
• Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
TECHNICAL SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.

Typically manages major / moderately complex projects, involving delegation of work and review of work products, at times acting as a team leader.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
•
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Electronic, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
•
8 years of experience in the medical device industry or in a similar Manufacturing Engineering role.
•
Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
•
Knowledge of Project Management methodologies, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (SSGB preferred), ISO 13485, and ASQ quality standards.
•
Experience with Engineering Change Management systems (Agile preferred).
•
Knowledge of statistics, product costing, Lean Manufacturing principles, and Six Sigma methodologies.
•
Experience leading cost reduction initiatives and managing capital projects.
•
Experience in manufacturing process development and process validation.
•
Experience designing and developing manufacturing processes to support efficient and compliant production.
•
Experience designing production layouts, including the arrangement of machines and equipment to optimize workflow and productivity.
•
Experience defining sequences of operations and establishing procedures for the fabrication of tools, equipment, and manufacturing processes affecting product performance.
•
Ability to adapt machine and equipment designs to factory capabilities and production conditions.
•
Experience incorporating inspection and testing requirements into manufacturing plans to ensure compliance with quality standards.
•
Experience evaluating the performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify efficiency and reliability.
•
Experience investigating production issues and implementing corrective actions to resolve deficiencies and ensure product quality.
•
Experience developing and implementing processes compatible with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and supporting statistical monitoring techniques.
•
Ability to provide technical guidance to engineering teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing capabilities and processes.
