Job Description

Minderoo Foundation is a modern philanthropic organisation. We take on tough, persistent issues with the potential to drive massive change. We incubate ideas and accelerate impact. We push the limits of what is believed possible.

Minderoo Foundation is independent, forward thinking and seeks effective, scalable solutions. We are proudly Australian, and one of Asia’s lar gest philanthropies.

Minderoo’s Effective Philanthropy Enabler drives the foundation strategy and vision through a holistic, systems-thinking approach and the development of organisational capability. Develops long-term relationships with our philanthropic peers, deploys impact investments and sets and holds the central standards for impact-related activities, impact measurement, capability development and sustainability. Effective Philanthropy plays a vital role in providing thought leadership to realise the 2030 Strategy’s ambitions through its focus on ensuring a targeted and cohesive approach to philanthropy that amplifies our overall impact.

We are seeking two Impact & Insights Principals to support Minderoo’s Gender Equality and Communities Focus Areas. Reporting to the Director, Impact & Insights, these roles sit at the intersection of strategy, impact measurement and learning. You will support Executive Directors and Focus Area teams to shape portfolios that are strategically coherent, evidence-led and focused on systems-level change.

Embedded within either the Gender Equality or Communities team, each Principal will play a leading role in strategic planning, portfolio coordination and impact measurement. You will support the design, approval and scaling of bodies of work; facilitate strategic planning and prioritisation processes; and steer alignment with Minderoo’s 2030 strategy. At the same time, you will lead impact measurement, evaluation and learning across the portfolio - designing and coordinating IML plans, ensuring fit-for-purpose impact and systems-change measures are embedded across work, advising on evaluation approaches, and supporting teams to use impact data and systems effectively. You will translate data, evaluation findings and learning into clear insights that inform strategy, portfolio decisions, reporting and continuous improvement.

These roles are ideal for a strategic thinker motivated to shape how Minderoo delivers impact at scale across complex social systems. You will bring deep experience in strategic planning and impact measurement, combined with strong facilitation and communication skills, and the ability to influence across portfolios. You are proactive, solutions-oriented, comfortable navigating complexity and bring a strong can-do attitude.

• Demonstrated experience in impact measurement, evaluation, learning and reporting within complex organisations or systems-focused initiatives
• Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods, tools and frameworks, with experience generating insights to inform strategy and decision-making
• Proven experience facilitating strategic discussions, workshops and decision-making processes, including navigating complexity, differing perspectives and conflict
• Strategic planning, program design and portfolio coordination experience, preferably in related field(s) and contexts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyse, synthesise and communicate complex information clearly and concisely
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with experience working effectively in matrixed environments and across diverse internal and external stakeholders (e.g. community, government, private sector, academia)
• Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. economics, social sciences, evaluation or related field), or equivalent professional experience
• A passion for tackling big, systemic problems to catalyse change at scale.
• A can-do attitude, a collaborative approach to working in a supportive team, and a strong alignment with all of Minderoo’s values

• Flexible work arrangements that support your wellbeing

• A chance to be part of a values-driven organisation making a global impact
