Principal Full Stack .NET Web Engineer

We are modernizing our core UI services and product experiences to power the next generation of web-based, customer-facing financial platforms; to achieve this, we are seeking a Principal Full-Stack .NET Engineer who will provide technical leadership and oversee the full architecture and low-level design decisions across multiple oneZero product UIs. This is a Principal-level role that requires exceptional depth in full-stack development, including deep expertise in backend development with C# and .NET, alongside expert-level frontend development experience with React and Redux, HTML, and CSS. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, reliable, and real-time user interfaces that enhance the user experience for financial applications.

This role is a full-time position in the oneZero Canberra office. Applicants must be based in the Canberra region or be able to relocate.

Required Skills

8+ years of professional experience with C#, ASP.NET core, and modern frontend technologies.

Expertise in defining and implementing full system frontend and backend architecture for complex real-time UI systems, including documenting and mentoring team members on best practices.

Proven track record in designing, developing, and deploying full-stack applications to the cloud in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Strong expertise in React, Redux, and responsive design principles. 

Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and pre-processors like LESS.

Extensive experience designing, securing, and optimizing REST APIs and working with OAuth 2.0 or other authentication/authorization protocols.

Expertise in architecting and building scalable, maintainable, and performant systems.

Proven ability to provide technical direction and oversight to a development team.

High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering polished, production-ready code.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Skills

Additional experience in any of the following will be highly regarded.:

Experience working on financial trading products. 

Experience with C++ or additional backend programming languages.

Experience migrating on-prem systems to the cloud.

Experience with front-end performance optimisation and profiling.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).

Familiarity with SignalR or WebSockets for real-time communication.
