Role Overview

We are searching for an exceptional Paid Search Systems & Optimization Lead – a true architect and deep-dive problem-solver in the realm of paid search. This is a highly technical role demanding an innate understanding of how paid search advertising systems operate at their core, beyond just their user interfaces. You will be instrumental in not only optimizing campaigns for e-commerce sales and app installs but also in developing and testing methodologies to predict and influence system behavior, enhance ad relevance, and fundamentally improve core performance metrics.

What You Will

• Deep System Understanding & Strategic Influence:

• Serve as the internal authority on the intricate workings of paid search advertising platforms, providing strategic insights based on a profound understanding of their algorithms and internal mechanics.

• Translate deep technical knowledge of search ad systems into actionable strategies that optimize for e-commerce sales and app installs (secondary focus).

• Advise on platform updates and shifts, proactively adapting strategies to maintain performance advantages.

• Technical Optimization & Process Engineering:

• Dissect and understand the underlying algorithms and technical factors that drive ad ranking, Quality Score equivalent metrics, and bidding dynamics.

• Develop, implement, and rigorously test methodologies to significantly improve ad relevance and predict optimal campaign configurations.

• Engineer robust landing page optimization processes that integrate seamlessly with paid search strategies, focusing on technical SEO signals, user experience, and conversion funnel efficiency.

• Architect sophisticated A/B testing frameworks across ad creative, ad extensions, and landing page elements, designed to reveal the most minute performance improvements.

• Identify, integrate, and leverage advanced platform features, automation rules, and API capabilities to build scalable and highly efficient campaign management solutions.

• Conduct forensic-level analysis of campaign performance data, identifying subtle patterns, anomalies, and underlying systemic causes impacting efficiency and scale

• Cross-Functional Technical Collaboration:

• Collaborate intimately with product, engineering, and data science teams to implement tracking solutions, troubleshoot complex data discrepancies, and influence product roadmaps based on system insights.

• Act as the bridge between marketing strategy and technical implementation, ensuring our platforms are optimally configured for peak performance.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on, dedicated experience managing and optimizing complex paid search advertising campaigns, with a significant and proven focus on e-commerce.

• Demonstrated experience handling very large-scale ad budgets and managing highly intricate campaign structures that span diverse product catalogs and user segments.

• Proven track record of driving substantial growth in e-commerce sales and optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs) within highly competitive markets.

• Experience with app install campaigns within a paid search context, understanding their distinct optimization levers.

• A strong portfolio or case studies showcasing successful initiatives in dissecting platform behavior, pioneering landing page optimization processes, and developing systemic solutions for ad relevance and Quality Score equivalent improvements.

• Exceptional, almost innate, understanding of how paid search advertising platforms are engineered and how their algorithms influence ad serving, bidding, and ranking.

• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve highly complex tracking, attribution, and data integrity issues at a foundational level.

• Deep expertise in web analytics platforms and their advanced integration with paid search data.
