Job Description

Customized Assistance Services (CAS) helps Human Resources Administration (HRA) clients with health and/or mental health problems reach the highest attainable level of functioning and self-sufficiency by providing comprehensive, integrated, individualized clinical and support services. CAS works with other components of HRA and with other governmental and non-governmental service providers to create new programs and to integrate and refine existing services so the people it serves can achieve their maximum functional capacity. CAS provides clinical expertise, recommendations, and direction to HRA in the fields of health, mental health, substance abuse and vocational rehabilitation.

Customized Assistance Services (CAS) provides direct and contracted clinically oriented services as well as expertise in the areas of health, mental health, substance abuse and rehabilitation to HRA's other program components. CAS develops and oversees clinically focused programs that provide comprehensive and individualized services to assist clients with medical and/or mental health conditions to achieve their maximum degree of self-reliance.

Customized Assistance Services (CAS) is recruiting to hire one (1) Community Coordinator to function as Principal Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner who will:

Under general direction of the Deputy Commissioner for Customized Assistance Services, with great latitude for independence for judgment, initiative and decision-making, serves as a Principal Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner, performing difficult professional and administrative functions. The work of the RC is highly specialized and most often extremely time sensitive.

- Participate in CAS meetings with vendors to discuss relevant issues and inter/intra agency coordination of client services.

- Perform special projects for CAS Deputy Commissioner as needed.

- Schedule and organize meetings for Deputy Commissioner, including coordinating meeting attendees, contacting presenters/speakers, reserving space, securing building access and preparing materials. Maintaining internal calendar for Deputy Commissioner.

- Review and screen all incoming mail and calls. Establishes and maintains administrative controls. Determines critical priorities that require the Deputy Commissioner's immediate attention and routes, if appropriate, to program area to ensure prompt accurate responses. Maintains correspondence control system. Establishes and maintains a reporting mechanism for all overdue correspondence including follow-up.

- Prepare confidential correspondence, letters and memoranda, and drafts certain letters and reports for the Deputy Commissioner and key administrative staff in Customized Assistance Services.

- Generate and maintain reporting containing confidential information regarding program operations such as vendor agency contacts.

- Receive and distribute centrally issued funds for CAS activities in conjunction with the Office Manager. Coordinate all Out-of-Town travel requests for conferences. Work with principal assistant to ensure travel arrangements are made in accordance with agency guidelines. Obtain signoffs in a timely manner. Collect appropriate documentation for forwarding to appropriate areas. Ensure that paperwork for and submissions of forms for reimbursement are made timely.

- Coordinate/process all CAS requests for training internal and external by verifying information and by accurately and appropriately routing to other areas for processing.

Hours/Schedule: 9:00am-17:00pm (Flexible)

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
