Role Summary

The Principal Architect – SaaS Platforms is the senior technical authority responsible for the delivery, architecture and integration of enterprise SaaS platforms across customer environments.

This role owns overall SaaS architecture, with Salesforce as the primary platform, and secondary responsibility for Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, ServiceNow, and other enterprise SaaS platforms. You will ensure these systems integrate seamlessly with Tessera’s AI platform, enabling intelligent workflows and AI-driven automation at scale.

Reporting to the VP of Architecture & Delivery, this role partners closely with Delivery, Pre-Sales, and Product Management to define scalable architectures, guide complex customer implementations, and ensure successful deployment of enterprise SaaS solutions.

This is a hands-on architecture leadership role in a fast-moving startup environment, requiring deep SaaS expertise, strong Salesforce specialization, AI integration experience, and the ability to lead large, strategic delivery engagements.

Key Responsibilities

SaaS Architecture Leadership

• Serve as the senior architectural authority for enterprise SaaS platforms across customer deployments.

• Define scalable architecture patterns across Salesforce (primary), Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, ServiceNow, and other enterprise SaaS platforms.

• Ensure seamless integration between SaaS platforms and Tessera’s AI platform.

• Establish architecture standards, governance models, and best practices for SaaS environments.

• Ensure SaaS architectures are scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with enterprise requirements.

Salesforce Architecture Leadership

• Lead architecture design and integration strategy for Salesforce across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Data Cloud.

• Architect solutions that enable AI-driven automation within Salesforce workflows.

• Define integration patterns connecting Salesforce with Tessera’s AI platform, other SaaS platforms, and enterprise systems.

• Provide architectural leadership for Salesforce platform expansion, optimization, and modernization.

AI Integration Architecture

• Define architectures integrating AI capabilities across Salesforce and enterprise SaaS platforms.

• Enable AI-driven automation for CRM, HCM, ITSM, and operational workflows.

• Architect integrations between Salesforce, Data Cloud, AI services, and external AI platforms.

• Partner with Product Management to ensure AI platform capabilities align with SaaS architectures.

Delivery Architecture & Implementation Guidance

• Provide architectural oversight and lead delivery teams implementing SaaS solutions.

• Ensure implementations align with defined architectures, integration patterns, and platform best practices.

• Resolve complex architectural and integration challenges across Salesforce and SaaS platforms.

• Serve as the escalation point for SaaS architecture decisions.

Pre-Sales & Customer Solution Leadership

• Partner with Pre-Sales to define scalable SaaS architectures during customer engagements.

• Lead architecture discovery sessions and solution workshops with customer technical stakeholders.

• Define integration strategies across Salesforce and enterprise SaaS platforms.

• Support strategic deals requiring deep SaaS and Salesforce expertise.

Product Management Alignment

• Collaborate with Product Management to ensure AI platform integration with SaaS platforms.

• Define reference architectures and integration models supporting product scalability.

• Provide architectural input into product roadmap planning and platform strategy.

• Ensure alignment between product capabilities and enterprise SaaS architecture requirements.

Required Technical Skills

Enterprise SaaS Architecture Expertise

• Extensive architecture experience across enterprise SaaS platforms: Salesforce (primary), Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, ServiceNow, and others.

• Strong understanding of enterprise SaaS integration patterns, data models, and workflow orchestration.

• Experience designing architectures across multi-SaaS enterprise environments.

Salesforce Architecture & Development Expertise

• Deep Salesforce architecture experience across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Data Cloud.

• Programming expertise in Apex (triggers, batch, queueable, asynchronous processing), Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and Salesforce APIs.

• Experience designing scalable Salesforce enterprise architectures integrated with AI systems and other SaaS platforms.

Programming & AI Integration Skills

• Strong experience in Apex and Python for Salesforce and AI integration.

• Experience integrating SaaS platforms with AI systems, automations, and intelligent workflows.

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, REST APIs, and workflow orchestration.

Integration & Enterprise Architecture

• Expertise in SaaS-to-SaaS and SaaS-to-enterprise system integration patterns.

• Experience with data synchronization, identity, security, governance, and platform interoperability.

Required Experience

• 10+ years in enterprise architecture, SaaS architecture, or platform architecture roles.

• Deep experience architecting enterprise SaaS systems with strong Salesforce specialization.

• Proven ability to lead large, complex delivery engagements.

• Experience supporting delivery teams, pre-sales, and product integration.

• Startup or high-growth environment experience preferred.

• Excellent communication and architectural leadership skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) strongly preferred.

• Additional Salesforce architect certifications highly valued.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, ServiceNow architecture.

• Experience integrating SaaS platforms with AI or automation systems.

• Advanced degree preferred.

Role Impact

• Partner closely with Product Management to influence product design, roadmap, and platform capabilities, ensuring that AI and workflow automation are fully integrated into enterprise SaaS architectures.

• Work directly with the VP of Architecture & Delivery to shape SaaS architecture strategy, delivery success, and platform adoption.

• Enable enterprise-scale AI automation across Salesforce and the broader SaaS ecosystem.
