Job Description
The Round Lake Area Park District is hiring Lead Teachers for our preschool program. This is a seasonal position with up to 25 hours per week, working in our two-year-old preschool classroom. The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that support the social, emotional, and early learning needs of two-year-old children.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree with a minimum of six (6) college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, OR
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
(Applicants who do not meet the six-credit minimum in Early Childhood Education are not eligible for hire.)
Experience
Experience working with preschool-aged children required
Experience working with two-year-old children preferred
Essential Duties
Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate group activities, including but not limited to music, art, games, and early literacy experiences
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
Provide consistent supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
Communicate clearly and professionally with children, parents/guardians, and coworkers
Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth through positive guidance and interaction
Certifications
Current Child First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire
