Overview

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for presales solutioning and implementation of enterprise infrastructure projects, focusing on VMware Infrastructure, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), public cloud platforms. The role requires expertise in designing, deploying, and managing hybrid and multi-cloud environments, as well as integrating and automating infrastructure components to support modern application workloads.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Presales Solutioning:
• Collaborate with solution architects and sales teams to design infrastructure solutions that meet client requirements.
• Prepare technical proposals, solution blueprints, and presentations for client engagements.
• Conduct technical reviews and peer reviews to ensure solution quality and alignment with business outcomes.
• Participate in technical solution reviews to address quality, feasibility, and risk prior to proposal submission.
• Implementation & Delivery:
• To lead a team for deployment and configuration of VMware Infrastructure, including vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and VMware Cloud Foundation for private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
• Integrate and manage public cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, ensuring seamless workload migration and hybrid connectivity.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Support application modernization initiatives, including containerization and Kubernetes integration with VMware Tanzu.
• Technical Leadership:
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex infrastructure issues.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and operational best practices.
• Documentation & Handover:
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for solution designs, implementation procedures, and operational guides.
• Conduct knowledge transfer and handover sessions with relevant IT teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with VMware Infrastructure (vSphere, NSX, vSAN) and VMware Cloud Foundation.
• Proficiency in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud integration.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Familiarity with application modernization, Kubernetes, and VMware Tanzu.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for presales engagements.

 

Desired Skills & Certifications (preferred)

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
