PrePress Lead

Rockford Silk Screen Process located in Loves Park, IL is looking for a motivated individual to join our Design Team! We are looking for someone to join in collaborating with the Creative Design Team in conceptualizing and producing concepts and designs for the clients we continue to proudly service. The PrePress Lead is responsible for the on-shift oversight of the PrePress Department and production schedule. Additionally responsible for providing support to the PrePress Manager to help the department achieve high performance in all facets of safety, quality, service and cost.

Education:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree

General knowledge of the print industry

Experience:

5+ years of experience in the industry

Knowledge of print production principals

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work directly with the PrePress Manager and PrePress Department.

Direct day to day activities of the department based on production demands.

Design and assist in the further development of multi-channel marketing collateral including print collateral, signage, vehicle graphics as well as assisting in mock-ups for branded portals.

Brainstorm and work with the creative team and management team with fresh ideas for design and advertising concepts.

Ability to utilize software solutions that relate to PrePress technology for digital reproduction.

Strategic planning and organization of projects within the production line.

File management and maintenance of accurate production logs.

Ensuring quality of printed materials by troubleshooting projects before printing.

Preparation may include but not be limited to creating clipping paths, photo manipulation, photo compositing and color correction.

Collaborate with the Production Coordinator and Project Managers to determine production priorities.

Support the PrePress Manager in the administration of established policies and procedures in a fair and equitable manner and help to resolve employee problems.

Provide feedback to the PrePress Manager on employee performance against standards.

Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are being followed.

Support PrePress Manager by providing instruction and training related to the employee’s job based on department goals and expectations.

Collaborate with the PrePress Manager to address customer complaints and quality defects and help identify corrective actions.
