Preconstruction Co-op
Reports to: Director of Preconstruction
Compensation: $22-$26/hourly
Location: Lee Kennedy Company, 122 Quincy Shore Drive, Quincy MA 02171
Position Overview
Join a fast-paced, dynamic environment at our main office in Quincy, where you will play an essential role in the Preconstruction Department. As a Preconstruction Co-op, you’ll support key preconstruction activities including document control, bid management, and project planning. This is a hands-on learning opportunity where you’ll gain valuable experience and contribute meaningfully to our team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the initial project setup, including creating and organizing administrative files, submittal logs, and document registers.
Communicating with subcontractors to help establish project files and assist in coordinating subcontractor documentation.
Review and familiarize yourself with project documents and subcontractor details.
Support the preparation and distribution of bid packages during bidding periods.
Contribute to quantity take-offs and developing scope descriptions for subcontractor trade work.
Communicate and coordinate with subcontractors on both competitive bids and negotiated projects.
Prepare and log Requests for Information (RFIs) for submission to architects as needed.
Assist in the development of proposal requests, and prepare responses to RFPs and RFIs.
Maintain strong, professional communication and relationships with internal teams and external partners.
What We’re Looking For
We seek a driven, detail-oriented candidate with strong communication skills eager to learn and contribute in a collaborative setting. This position is ideal for students who are highly organized and comfortable making phone calls. Preferred (but not required) majors are construction management, engineering, and architecture.
