What You’ll Get to Do
We are seeking a data-driven Preconstruction Analyst to optimize our quoting and bidding lifecycle. Unlike a traditional estimator, you will focus on the "intelligence" behind the numbers using historical cost data, existing databases, price sheets, and market trends to ensure our bids are not only competitive but also highly profitable. You will act as the bridge between customer request, customer service, and project management, ensuring that every project is built on a foundation of accurate data and assisting other estimators in navigating data and building up cost more efficiently. This role will be working onsite in Waxahachie, TX.
Job responsibilities include:
• Predictive Estimating: Develop and maintain sophisticated pricing models and databases for curtain wall, storefront, and window systems.
• Evaluate easier solutions to bridge gaps between old systems and new systems, to move quickly and efficiently.
• Data Analysis: Track and report on key performance metrics including bid pipeline health, "hit rates," and estimate-vs-actual performance.
• Risk Identification: Analyze project documents to identify potential constructability issues or "red flag" specifications before the bid is submitted.
• Handoff Excellence: Lead the "data handoff" to support Project Coordination, providing detailed takeoff files, schedules of values, and identified risks.
• Project Support: Support product delivery tracking and customer updates and revisions.
What We Are Looking For
• Industry Knowledge: Minimum 3+ years in the commercial glass and glazing industry with deep knowledge of aluminum framing systems.
• Software Proficiency: Medium to Advanced-level skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Formulas and short-cuts) and specialized tools like LogiKal, Bluebeam Revu, or PlanSwift.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to calculate complex figures like material areas, circumferences, and indirect cost.
• Communication: Ability to present technical data findings clearly to executive leadership and customers.
• Detail Oriented: An obsession with precision in measurements and blueprint interpretation to avoid costly errors.
What OBE Offers You
• Benefits that benefit you – industry competitive benefits at the lowest cost to the employee
• Work-life balance – PTO and holidays, including floating holidays you can choose
• Compensation that rewards your hard work – A pay-for-performance culture with potential for annual raises and bonuses
• Training – We will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed
