Our Energetic Team:
Energy Vault Solution, a division within Energy Vault, is dedicated to delivering customer-focused energy storage products that merge Battery and Clean Hydrogen technologies. The Energy Vault Solution team also develops and manages our AI/ML powered software applications that include EMS, Lifecycle Management, and Energy Trading Platforms.

Your Impact as a Power Systems Modeling Engineer:
We are looking for a part time engineer to design and support Power System Modeling of grid interactive inverters for utility scale energy storage systems. In this role, you will gain practical and technical experience on cutting-edge energy storage technologies while working closely with industry experts to simulate, analyze and troubleshoot complex systems from inverter modeling to large scale power plant level controls.

This role is temporary – estimated 6-months in duration - with part time hours.

Your Mission::
• Design and perform verification tests of grid interactive inverters in the Power System Modeling simulation environment
• Work with internal and external teams to determine system requirements and verify our solution will meet and exceed project requirements

Your Background::
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Systems engineering, Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in power systems/power electronics design focused on grid interactive inverters.
• Open to current Master’s or Ph.D. students with research focus on grid interactive inverters with solid power systems/power electronics background.
• Strong interest in renewable energy and energy storage industry.
• Technical knowledge of grid-forming, grid-following inverters and power plant controller.
• Deep technical experience on Electro Magnetic Transients (EMT) simulation PSCAD, and Matlab/Simulink, PSS/E, TSAT, DigSilent.
• Hands-on experience with User Defined Modeling (UDM) and automation tools using C, Fortran, Python.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as UL 1741, IEEE 1547, IEEE 2800.
• Comfortable thriving in fast-paced, rapid growth environments.
