PostgreSQL Database Administrator

We are looking for a skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure database environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. You will play a key role in ensuring database performance, availability, and reliability while supporting ongoing projects and operations.

Responsabilities:

• Administer and maintain PostgreSQL databases (on-prem and cloud environments)
• Manage database lifecycle, including upgrades, patching, and performance tuning
• Design and implement backup, recovery, and high availability (HA/DR) strategies
• Monitor system performance (CPU, memory, storage) and plan capacity needs
• Ensure system-level and database-level security, including access control and authentication
• Analyze and optimize queries using performance tools (e.g., Explain Plan, profilers)
• Support deployment and change management, including schema updates and CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Collaborate with developers and architects on database design (schemas, indexes, views)
• Improve monitoring, automation, and error-prevention processes
• Participate in project activities and 24/7 on-call rotation

Requirements:
• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (on-prem and cloud)
• Experience with other databases (e.g., MongoDB, SQL Server, Oracle) is a plus
• Strong knowledge of backup/recovery, HA/DR, and performance tuning
• Experience with database security (system-level and application-level)
• Familiarity with capacity planning and resource management
• Experience with deployment processes and CI/CD integration
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
