Security Clearance: Current Secret

Position Description:
JTEC Consulting is hiring a Postgres DBA with Postgres Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to support all aspects of database administration and management for a DoD Identity, Credentialing, and Access Management (ICAM) contract. The Postgres DBA/SME will support a collaborative team environment ensuring sound practices for access control and detecting vulnerabilities as part of modernizing the customer's cybersecurity framework.
An active security clearance is required for consideration.
A current CompTIA Security+ certification is required to start work.
Role and responsibilities include:
Work as part of a collaborative engineering team offering technical solutions, troubleshooting, and resolutions to enhance Army capabilities supporting system security.
Provide Postgres expertise for all aspects of Postgres DBA and database management to design and implement database solutions.
Ensure efficiency, security, and optimization for database systems to meet program goals.
Design, deploy, and maintain high performance Postgres database environments.
Support troubleshooting and problem resolution for database performance issues.
Promote and implement best practices for data security and data integrity.
Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
Maintain current with industry trends and best practices for Postgres database technology.
Support program documentation and reporting, as requested.
Work closely with project managers and team leads to meet delivery requirements.
Provide on-site support, as requested.
Requirements include:
U.S. citizenship
Current Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree required; Studies in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related discipline preferred
Equivalent years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Current certification to meet DOD 8570 IAT Level II compliance (Security+, CISSP, or equivalent) is required to start work
10+ years of related development experience including:
Demonstrated experience and professionally recognized for Postgres expertise at SME level
Advanced knowledge of Postgres Database Administration including configuration, tuning, and monitoring
Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL programming
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills to work with a blended government and contractor team
Ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience
Availability to work on-site at Ft Belvoir or Kingstowne offices, as requested
Preferred Experience:
Industry recognized certifications such as PostgresSQL Certified Professional is highly desired
