Title: Postgres Consultant (Contract)
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Estimated # of hours needed: 40 hours

We are seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Consultant to provide expert-level guidance on PostgreSQL database systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, a deep understanding of database architecture, and the ability to solve complex data challenges.
What you will do:
Design scalable, robust PostgreSQL database solutions tailored to business needs.
Implement and maintained replication, standby servers, and failover systems for critical environments.
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness for PostgreSQL server environment.
What makes you an ideal candidate:
Hands-on experience improving complex queries and tuning database performance in production environments.
Proven ability to fine-tune PostgreSQL systems handling millions of transactions and high concurrency.
Experienced in PostgreSQL deployment and optimization on AWS, including RDS, replication, and high-availability configurations.
Practical experience designing and restructuring schemas to support large-scale, high-growth applications.
Skilled at resolving locking, contention, and transaction conflicts in heavily used databases.
Deployed and managed pooling and load distribution strategies to stabilize performance under peak demand.
Experienced in using monitoring tools and real-time analysis to identify and fix performance bottlenecks.
Hands-on management of backup strategies and recovery testing to ensure data durability and reliability.
Built automated workflows for database deployment, scaling, and configuration management.
Practical experience tuning OS, storage, and caching layers to achieve maximum database throughput.
