The City of Kenora is looking for Post-Secondary Work Placements this summer for various city areas!

This is your chance to be part of a dynamic and innovative team of professionals who work hard to ensure the best possible experience for all of our residents and visitors. We take a lot of pride in what we do, and we want you to join us in working together to make our great public services even better. Applicants must be a full-time student in the 2025-26 school year at a College, University, or other educational institution and be returning to school full-time for the 2026-2027 academic year. If successful, proof of school attendance will be required.

This placement is a great opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a municipal setting while exploring a wide range of public services. You’ll see how your field of study comes to life in a real-world environment, learn from a supportive team of experienced professionals, and gain practical insight into how your academic learning applies in a real-world setting. The placement is designed to be flexible, allowing a supervisor to support your professional goals. 

Most positions are approximately 15 weeks duration, from May until end of August.

Placements will be available in various areas within the City including but not limited to:

Engineering

GIS

Facilities

Planning and Building

Human Resources

Finance

Corporate Services
